Nabavi Law Firm is a boutique law firm specializing in the following areas:
Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate
Nabavi Law Firm is a successor law firm to Dorband & Schneider, LLP’s Trust and Estate practice. Maryam Nabavi was a law partner at Dorband & Schneider, LLP. In 2019 Dorband & Schneider, LLP divided into two entities. One entity for the continued servicing of the Trust and Estate clients by Maryam Nabavi, and one entity for servicing tax preparation clients by Chris Schneider. As a result, Nabavi Law Firm was founded by Maryam Nabavi for the continued service of the Trust and Estate clients.
Maryam Nabavi has been certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
Maryam received her Juris Doctorate degree and was admitted to practice law in California in 2005. She began her law career in the area of family law. While working as an attorney, she earned her Masters of Law in Taxation (LLM), with an emphasis in Trust and Estate tax, from Golden Gate University School of Law. She then transitioned into Trust and Estate law. Maryam is able to provide comprehensive analysis and advice to her Trust and Estate clients because of her knowledge of Trust and Estate taxation combined with her family law background. Her Trust and Estate tax knowledge is invaluable in her practice because much of estate planning is related to taxation, whether estate tax, gift tax, capital gain tax, or property tax. She can also prepare gift tax returns and estate tax returns as part of trust administration or probate for large estates or for the purpose of Portability. Similarly, her family law background is extremely helpful as many of her clients are blended families and the issue of community versus separate property is a common concern. Maryam is able to prepare prenuptial and post nuptial agreements for her estate planning clients who want to ensure that their spouse is taken care of after their death while ensuring that their children from prior marriage will also benefit from their estate.
